Sholpan joined the New York team last September after completing her Master’s degree at the CU School of Social Work. Her studies were funded by OSI, and were concentrated on International Policy Practice. Before starting at GHRCCA, Sholpan worked in community development for USAID in Kazakhstan, started Bereke, an NGO to promote the interests of marginalized Kazakhstani communities, and served as the International Student Representative of the CUSSW Student Union Executive Board. Sholpan is currently applying this expertise to clinical supervision for Project Renaissance in her native Kazakhstan.
